The Phenomics Center of South Carolina is intended to facilitate integration of research efforts at MUSC, South Carolina State University, the University of South Carolina, and Clemson University with the goal of understanding the complex phenotypic consequences of genetic effects at the level of the whole organism. Mark S. Kindy, PhD, Professor of Neurosciences and Admiral Pihl Endowed Chair, is directing these efforts with the aid of a substantial new grant from the National Science Foundation that will support recruitment of five new tenure-track research faculty members (MUSC and SCSU) and acquisition of high resolution small animal magnetic resonance imaging instrumentation and accessories. The Phenomics Center is working in conjunction with the Department of Neurosciences and the Hollings Cancer Center to establish an Animal Imaging Center at MUSC to provide imaging modalities to facilitate translational research.
Welcome to the Animal Research Service Center specializing in 7T MRI scanning for small animals. Please contact Eileen McFadden (843-792-0559) or Peter Chou (792-6171) for information and scheduling the 7T for your study. You may email your request to mcfaddee@musc.edu.
